Conciliation for Complaints

Some complaints may be harder to resolve than others. Strong emotions are often involved.  The complainant feels unheard and the person or service complained about feels threatened, anxious and frustrated at what they perceive to be an unreasonable response to what they set out  to achieve.

Sadly complaints often end up in the legal system because the complainant has not felt listened to and is still looking for some resolution. This can be very costly for organisations.

The services of an independent Conciliator can be helpful, as they may prevent complaints reaching the courts thereby minimising cost, effort and additional distress for all concerned.

Just Solutions can offer not just trained Mediators, but people who – through their own management experience in public and private sector organisations – are well versed in handling complaints, and taking the Conciliator’s role.

    • Setting up meetings with both parties and assessing the situation from both points of view.

    • Facilitating communication and ensuring both views are heard.

    • Providing neutral conciliation and observing confidentiality guidelines.

    • Supporting the parties to reach a mutually agreeable outcome which will lead to the end of the complaint or at least reduce the complexity of the issues involved.
